In the heart of Istria, surrounded by nothing but fields and quiet, in the small but oenologically and gastronomically rich village of Kaštelir, there lies a villa called Vistra.

Kaštelir is a lovely little Istrian village that has everything you need: a local shop (if you want to go shopping in a larger supermarket, there is a mall in Poreč), cafés, excellent restaurants with unique Istrian delicacies, wine trails and wineries, fresh country air and the opportunity to acquaint yourself with the local way of life by walking through the old village streets... The people of Kaštelir are known for winemaking, potato and vegetable cultivation, as well as for the production of olive oil and honey, and many of them have received numerous awards.
The right spot for recreational athletes.
Kaštelir also has several cycling trails that will bring joy to all fans of outdoor activities and sports. Cycling fans from all around the globe come to Istria due to its natural beauty, scenery and high-quality trails. The climate here is exceptionally pleasant.
The village of Sabadin, which attracts paragliders due to its altitude of 550 feet with mostly favourable west and north-west winds and a breath-taking view, is situated west of Kaštelir.
Istrian cuisine.
The Kaštelir-Labinci Municipality has a rich history. The church in the central part of Kaštelir was built in 1908 and the one in Labinci, dedicated to St John the Baptist, was erected in 1736. The gothic Church of the Holy Trinity dates back to the thirteenth century and its frescoes were painted in the first half of the fifteenth century.
We recommend that you visit the Đardin restaurant and the Cosetto winery. Try the famous Istrian Malvasia wine, the laureate of the Vinistra festival, or enjoy a beefsteak with truffles or a fish specialty – a mere ten-minute walk from the villa is all it will take.
